The College of Health Sciences and the 2023/24 Health Students Association (HESA) executives of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, have commissioned a study area for students at the Medical Village.
The project, valued at GHS 55,000, aims to provide a conducive space for peer learning, and knowledge sharing among students.
The 2023/24 President of HESA, Mr Bernard Bosoma Yeboah, provided background on the donation, stating, "The idea dates back to the 2021/22 academic year when I was the Financial Secretary but couldn’t see it through. Two years down the line, I became the President, and I took it upon myself to make that vision a reality."
He highlighted the need for conducive study spaces to accommodate the surge in student population and complement existing classrooms.

The Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Professor Christian Agyare, acknowledged the significance of the initiative, noting, "After extensive discussions with the President, we agreed on implementing a project within their short tenure that would leave a lasting impact."
According to him, the initiative was inspired by problem-based learning, which encouraged students to actively participate in bringing the project to fruition with the necessary support.
He recommended that the incoming executives, with the backing of Management, construct two additional discussion areas to further address the growing demand for study spaces.
He also hinted of two study areas at the Clinical Hostel of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Professor Agyare expressed his appreciation to the Committee Chair, the College Finance Officer, and all other committee members for their invaluable contributions towards the successful completion of the project.
